The Insolents are a cult of Lycanthropes that have devoted their lives to becoming cannibals and hunting down and eating other humans, wolves, werewolves, and Lycans. The reason for this is still unknown, but those who participate in the practices become barbaric and less human with each feeding. The leader of this cult, Carmen Soto, rules the group with an iron fist. She is the one who laid down the rules, allowing the consumption of anyone outside their clan. The group is made up of about fifteen Lycans, many of them too far gone and unable to shift back into human form. When the cult feeds, they feed in a group, and always shift beforehand so that they feed in their Lycan form.
The Insolents gave themselves the name in Insulae Canibalium, meaning "the cannibals" in Latin. They bear this name in pride, and due to Andreas telling the Bonums about them, they became known as the Insolents, or Insullies casually. They resent these names, as they do not tell the story of their purpose and instead bastardize their name, which they hold sacred.
The 'royal family', as it is referred to in the cult, is made up of Carmen, Orion, Gia, and Andreas Sano. Carmen and Orion are the Alphas, and the most delusional in the entire clan, believing that with every feeding session, they gain power and control. They do their best to convince their children to follow in their footsteps and feed with them, however Andreas refuses, and while Gia will feed occasionally, she does it unwillingly and sympathizes with her brother. Because of these 'rebellious acts' and their dwindling sanity, Carmen and Orion tolerate their children less and less, and treat them more like burdens instead of their kin, effectively driving Andreas and his friends out of the cult for good.
